Californians for Safety and Justice ( is a nonprofit project of the Tides Center working to replace prison and justice system waste with common sense solutions that create safe neighborhoods and save public dollars. CSJ is committed to elevating the voices of people affected by ineffective criminal justice policies to tell their personal stories in order to illuminate some of the policy changes that need to be made.
