With California Public Safety Realignment resulting in the steady decline of the level of individuals incarcerated in state prisons, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has released a plan to cut billions in spending, meet constitutional standards ordered by various courts for medical, mental health and dental care for incarcerated individuals, and improve prison and parole operations.

The plan is titled “The Future of California Corrections: A Blueprint to Save Billions of Dollars, End Federal Oversight, and Improve the Prison System.”  For a full copy of the plan, click here.  For a copy of the executive summary of the plan, click here.
